Positive Thought - I Will Not Shrink From My Responsibilities

Greetings!

This week the idea of being responsible popped up time and time again with my clients. I’m no linguist but I kept thinking about responsibility as being my ability to respond to others. I am able to handle or respond positively and effectively when I am in control of my thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. All week I encouraged the use of forgiveness, willingness, asking for a break and quiet time, with the lawyer who asked for a continuance (a break), the business executive willing to hear the other side of a poor review, the man forgiving his fiance for thinking he violated her trust, and the manager using quiet time to get centered before making a career altering presentation. There are many paths to one destination, peace of mind. Developing the ability to know when and how to respond is the key to reducing stress and anxiety every day.

Positive Thought of the Week

I will not shirk from my responsibilities. I am responsible to myself and the people in my life to stay centered and balanced. When I lose control emotionally I lose my ability to create a positive influence. If I can't regain emotional control I will ask for a break to give me a chance to renew and refocus. Only when I am calm and centered can I create a positive influence.

Business Thought of the Week

I will make a list of the values in my life that I consider most important. I will compare them to the values and vision of my company. I will work to bring my personal and professional values into agreement.
