Positive Thought - Gratitude List

Greetings!

The Happiness equation is simple: Gratitude + Love + Forgiveness + Action = Happiness. Simple doesn't mean easy. But that's why The Daily Six is designed to be a daily commitment, small steps every day. Have you ever wondered why our happiness doesn't follow our income? I think it's because our income is not the reason for our happiness. We sometimes think that if we have this or earn that, then life will turn around but we are only half right. Money can restore things but only the happiness equation can restore people. Happiness is an inside job.

Positive Thought of the Week:

Each day I will make a gratitude list. Gratitude keeps me in the present and frees me to see the good in my life. Love and Forgiveness wash away old resentments, angers and judgments and leave behind selflessness, willingness and courage. Action requires that I step out of thinking and into living. I want to live the life of my dreams. I will look around me and practice the happiness equation.

Business Thought of the Week:

"Why" is critical to productivity and morale. When I tell someone why their job is important and how it contributes to the greater good I get increased in productivity and reduced absenteeism. When I explain why to someone they work more quickly, correctly and with a much more positive attitude. . When I provide feedback using why, I imbue the changes with much more power, willingness and energy.

This week I am developing a new workshop which I am presenting, for a group of business executives in Michigan, later this month. I will be back in Charleston SC week after next to finish my workshop series there. This week I am also developing and writing a new series of articles on business planning for The Business Journal newspapers. I hope everyone has a great week as we settle back into the new school/work year. I found out just a couple of weeks back that I am to be a granddad again. Wow, four grandsons. But like most things there are two points of view, one is the blessings of children and grandchildren, and the other is oh my God how did I get this old? Thankfully, I too can use the Happiness equation and love the life I live.
